Toyota preuzela vođstvo od Porschea, Audi zaostaje
Nad Le Manom se polako spuštalo veče. Palila su se svetla, a vozači su ušli u deo trke za koji svi složno kažu da je izuzetno težak za vožnju. To nije omelo Kamui Kobayashija, koji je doveo svoju Toyotu do vodeće pozicije. Webber je bio siguran za volanom Porsche #1 automobila, a bez prvog mesta je ostao posle zaustavljanja u boksu.
Bernhard je zamenio australijskog asa i dao se u poteru za Toyotom #6.Anthony Davidson je držao sigurnu 3.poziciju, ispred Janija u Porsche #2 automobilu. Razvoj situacije sigurno nije obradovao čelnike Audija, jer se njihov tim u večernjim časovima nalazio tek na poziciji br.5.
LMP2
Mladi Ryo Hirakawa je na pravi način opravdao poverenje koje mu je ukazala Toyota. Vodio je ispred Richelmija, a početkom šestog sata je napravio više od minuta prednosti. Ta pristojna razlika mu je omogućila da se i nakon pit stopa vrati na 1.mesto.
Chris Cumming je prošao pravu dramu u svom Ligier #31 automobilu. Izleteo je dva puta i tom prilikom oštetio automobil.
GTE-Pro
Ferrari je imao odličnu strategiju zbog koje je Malucelli bio u vođstvu ispred Ford Chip Ganassi tima. Ipak, Fordovi vozači u automobilima #68, #69 i #66 nisu bili daleko, pa se postavljalo pitanje da li Ferrari može da izdrži u teškim, noćnim uslovima.
Ono čega su se pribojavali navijači italijanske ekipe se i dogodilo oko 22 h, kada je Fisichella ostao bez čelne pozicije.
